God’s Way Is Always Best – Joyce Meyer Daily Devotion – Powerful Message

We need to come to the realization that God is smarter than we are. His plan really is better—way is better than ours. I look back now at many of the frustrating times I went through trying to make things happen in my own timing and being frustrated about waiting, and I realize now that I really wasn’t ready for them.

God has an individualized, customized plan for your life. As you trust Him, He will bring it to pass in His timing, not yours. Waiting on God’s plan and timing is wise because His ways are always best. He is the Lord of peace, and as you surrender your heart and life to Him, you will experience the peace that passes understanding.

I have discovered over the years that trusting God often requires unanswered questions. When we face confusing situations, we need to say, “Lord, this does not make any sense to me, but I’m choosing to trust You. I believe You love me and that You’ll bring Your best for me at the right time.” We should pray that prayer regularly, remembering that God’s ways include His timing. When we do, He’ll give us the grace to be patient, and the wisdom to know what to do in the meantime.

When you find that you are having a hard time trusting God, ask yourself: “Is it because I am afraid that if I do trust Him, I might not get what I want?” If the answer is yes, then you have located the cause of your lack of trust and peace. God’s given us the power to look beyond where we are right now and to always have hope. What can the devil do with you if you refuse to stop hoping? Oh, my, gosh, hope is so powerful.

Getting our own way is highly overrated. It is amazing how much of our lives are wasted on the pursuit of self-gratification, only to find in the end that we are not satisfied after all.

Only God’s will has the ability to ultimately satisfy us. We are created for Him and for His purposes, and anything less than that is totally incapable of bringing lasting contentment. When we are young, we may think that getting what we want is the most important thing in life, but as the years go by, hopefully, we learn and have enough experience to readily say, “I want God’s will more than I want my own will.” There is no better place to be than in God’s perfect will!

God is directing our steps not just when everything is going our way, not just when the doors open, but even when the doors close God is still in control.

Prayer Starter: Father, please help me trust Your timing and process. I don’t want to force things to happen, so give me the grace to stay patient. Thank You for showing me how to move forward, and for working behind the scenes for my good. In Jesus’ name, amen.
