We can spend all our time thinking and talking about what is wrong in the world or we can choose to concentrate on the good things. We can either focus on what is wrong with a family member, friend, or coworker, or we can look for and accentuate what is good in them. The fruit of trusting God is confidence. We may not have all the answers when we trust Him, but we can be assured that He does.
Many people think they’re trusting God but they’re worrying all the time. For me, it was a real eye-opener when I realized that as long as I was worrying and anxious and trying to figure everything out, I was not really trusting God. We need to lean on, trust in, and be confident in God.
Many people think they’re trusting God but they’re worrying all the time. It was a huge eye-opener for me when I realized that I wasn’t really trusting God as long as I was worried, concerned, and trying to figure things out. We must rely on, trust in, and have faith in God.
Trusting God allows us to enter His rest, and rest is a place of peace where we are able to enjoy our lives while being confident God is fighting our battles. Trusting God often means not knowing how God is going to accomplish something and not knowing when He will do it. But not knowing “how and when” stretches your faith and teaches you lessons in trust. Remember: Trust is not inherited; it is learned.
Trusting God doesn’t mean that we sit back and do absolutely nothing while God does everything. Trusting God really means that we are going to put our trust in Him but we’re also going to do good.
Choose to concentrate on godly, faith-filled thoughts. Let your first response in any situation be to see the good, not the bad. Speak out loud and say, “I trust God completely. I know He has a plan. He is going to do something good in my life!”
We can be thankful that God loves us and chooses to make His home in us. This choice is not based on any good deeds we have done or every could do, but solely on the grace, mercy, power, and love of God.
Prayer Starter: Father, thank You that there are good things all around me to focus on. Help me see the best in people, not the worst. Thank You that I can choose my thoughts and I can enjoy the life You’ve given me.
